Scott Blossom is a Traditional Chinese Medical practitioner, yoga therapist, and Ayurvedic Consultant. He has been studying yoga for over fourteen years and teaching yoga for nine. He holds a degree in biology and has extensively studied anatomy, physiology, and Ayurveda (East Indian traditional medicine) with Dr. Robert Svoboda. In his yoga classes, workshops and teacher trainings Scott focuses primarily on yoga and Ayurveda, Shadow Yoga as taught by Zhander Remete, and yoga therapy. He teaches from a multidimensional perspective, integrating contemporary western and classical eastern concepts of healing and balance.
Scott's yoga experience has been a combination of Iyengar influenced teachers and therapeutically oriented styles. His main teachers are Dr. Robert Svoboda, Zhander Remete, Erich Schiffmann, and Joseph Lepage of Integrative Yoga Therapy. Their influence has shaped much of his understanding of the place and power of yoga and Ayurveda in the modern world. He has published articles about yoga and Ayurveda in Yoga Journal and Yoga International, integrative yoga therapy in The Journal of the Association of International Yoga Therapists and a series of articles on herbal medicine in Natural Health Magazine. He also collaborated with Kripalu Center on two yoga and Ayurveda home practice CD's for harmonizing your practice with the spring and fall seasons.
